Sometimes a room just needs a good grey. Not too dark, not too pale, and without a pattern that competes with everything else. The Tapison Home Torino 063.0078.7696 is exactly that kind of rug: a mid grey with soft tonal shading that keeps it from looking flat.
What makes it interesting is the surface. Fine vertical ribs run through the low pile and catch the light, so the grey shifts slightly as you move through the room, a little like the sheen on wool flannel. It is soft underfoot and finished with a darker grey bound edge.
Grey is the easiest base to build on. Add warmth with walnut, camel and terracotta, keep it fresh with white and pale wood, or go bold with a sofa in deep green or ochre. It works in a living room, under a bed or beneath a dining table.
Woven in Belgium from polyester, this Torino is colourfast and easy to keep clean with regular vacuuming.
