Collection: Brink & Campman Rugs

Brink & Campman was founded in 1897 in Lichtenvoorde, in the Dutch province of Gelderland, and has operated a design studio from the same location for over a century. Every collection, regardless of where it is produced, is designed by the in-house team in Lichtenvoorde. New collections are presented each autumn, developed from yarn and technical possibility rather than from seasonal trend. Onlinetapijten.be is the official Brink & Campman flagship store for Belgium and the Benelux, carrying the full collection online and in our showroom in Willebroek. The company also operates its own factory and weave mill in Lichtenvoorde, where Axminster weaving is carried out on looms the brand has mastered across generations. Axminster allows complex pattern work across the full width of a rug, with colour accuracy and structural density that tufted methods cannot replicate at the same level.
The Hand-Tufted Collections
The hand-tufted collections, produced with long-standing partners in India, form the largest and most expressive part of the Brink & Campman range. Hand-tufting allows the design team to work with a level of colour and compositional freedom that machine production or flatweave techniques cannot achieve. Decor approaches each rug as a composition: abstract forms, considered colour transitions, a painterly quality in the pile surface. Pop Art is more direct: bold curves and strong colour contrasts that make an immediate visual statement. The Element series takes its visual references from the history of abstract sculpture and interprets them in 100% pure New Zealand wool. Rocks is a high-pile shaggy construction in pure wool with a deep, organic texture. The Estella quality combines wool with viscose in specific pattern areas to add highlights and a surface sheen that cut pile alone cannot produce.
The Handwoven and Flatweave Collections
The handwoven flatweave collections represent a separate production approach. Marble and Cobble use thick, rolled wool yarn woven into robust, tactile structures that read as simultaneously luxurious and durable. Dots brings graphic playfulness in a woven construction that holds precise pattern across a flat surface. Kashba references the kilim tradition in its visual language: vivid colour and strong geometric pattern.
Licensed Brand Collections
Brink & Campman designs and manufactures the rug collections for some of the most respected names in international design. Marimekko, the Finnish design house known for its bold graphic patterns, produces its rug range in collaboration with Brink & Campman in hand-tufted New Zealand wool, with the Unikko and Tiiliskivi patterns among the most sought-after. Orla Kiely brings her characteristic stem and graphic motifs into wool pile constructions of the same quality. Morris & Co, Sanderson, Harlequin, Ted Baker, Wedgwood, Scion, Laura Ashley and Florence Broadhurst complete the licensed range. Each collection is developed in collaboration with the commissioning brand's own design studio and produced to Brink & Campman's standards. A Morris & Co or Sanderson rug in our collection is made with the same quality controls as the Brink & Campman own-brand range.
Materials and Sustainability
The primary material across all wool collections is New Zealand wool, sourced from suppliers certified under the Responsible Wool Standard, which verifies both animal welfare and responsible land management. The outdoor collections, including Festival, La Vida and Lace, are produced from recycled PET yarns. Brink & Campman holds SMETA certification for social and environmental compliance across its supply chain.
