Quiet in colour, playful in outline: that is the charm of Element Lane Neutral. Three soft, pebble like forms slide over one another, one in sand beige, one in a warm taupe at the centre and one in cream that peeks out along the edge. The tones sit so close together that the rug reads as one calm surface from a distance, and only the curved lines between them give the game away. Underfoot the wool is full and soft, with a matt, velvety finish.

This is the rug for an interior that already has its colours and now needs shape. It sits naturally on a grey concrete floor, on pale wood or on natural stone, and it welcomes one bright note nearby, such as a mustard yellow chair or an ochre vase. Place it off centre in the living room so the curves can run free, or let it soften the foot of a bed. In a dining room, choose a round or oval table to echo the flowing outline.

The rug is made of 100% pure new wool, hand tufted in India for Brink & Campman, and finished with a cotton and latex backing. Its cut pile stands 14 mm high. The dimensions refer to the widest and longest point of the freeform shape. Underfloor heating is no problem, and a made to measure version is possible on request. Vacuum weekly with a smooth nozzle, no rotating brush. Some loose fibres at the start are normal, and a spill is best blotted straight away with a clean, dry cloth.
