The darkest tone does the talking in Element Lane Blue. A midnight blue so deep it borders on ink anchors the lower part of the rug, a slate grey blue curves through the middle like water over a stone, and a sand beige lifts the upper edge. The three shapes overlap in smooth arcs, so the outline swells and narrows instead of running straight. Close up, the dark wool has a rich, matt depth, while the lighter areas show the fine grain of the cut pile.

Strong contrast calls for a calm setting. White walls and a pale floor let the outline stand out sharply, and a mustard yellow throw or an ochre cushion makes the blue glow. Beside a bed it gives bare feet a soft landing and frames the sleeping area without boxing it in. In the living room, pair it with a low sofa in off white or grey and keep the coffee table light, in glass or slim metal, so the three colour fields stay visible.

Made in India by hand tufting, Element Lane Blue consists of 100% pure new wool on a cotton and latex backing, with a 14 mm cut pile. The size on this page is taken across the widest and longest part of the shape, since the rug has no straight sides. It may be used over underfloor heating, and on request this design is available made to measure. Loose fibres in the first weeks are normal and vanish with routine vacuuming. Choose a smooth nozzle rather than a rotating brush, and blot a spill right away with a clean dry cloth.
