Weathered paint on a wooden boat, sea glass, the colour of the North Sea on a bright winter day. That is the mood of the Tapison Home Torino 063.0078.5249: a faded petrol blue, broken up by patches of warm taupe and grey so it looks softly worn rather than new.
Because the blue is muted, it is surprisingly easy to place. Combine it with whitewashed wood, stone and linen for a calm coastal feel, or with walnut, mustard and rust if you like a warmer, more vintage look. A slate grey bound edge keeps the outline quiet.
The low pile is dense and velvety to the touch, with fine lines in the weave that add depth. This Torino is woven in Belgium from polyester, colourfast and simple to look after with a regular vacuum.
