Structures Fragment 2 Border is a black and white designer rug framed like a drawing: a maze of black lines on an off white field, held by a wide border in ochre brown. OEO Studio's graphic pattern looks like a fragment of a plan, and the bamboo silk gives the black lines a fine sheen against the softer ground.
The frame makes it a natural centrepiece, under a coffee table in a living room with a white sofa, or in a hallway or entrance large enough for 170 x 240 cm. Combine it with black steel, light wood and ochre or cognac accents that echo the border. In a minimal interior it acts almost like a piece of art on the floor.
It is handtufted in India, combining New Zealand wool and bamboo silk at fifty percent each, with a low pile that can lie on underfloor heating. Handmade production brings small variations in size and shade. Keep the rug dry: blot spills right away, avoid water and entrust deep cleaning to a professional. A vacuum cleaner without a rotating brush keeps the surface neat.
