Imagine a forest floor translated into wool. In Loom Natural Moss, beige and cream form the base, and strands of moss green, brown and grey are scattered through it like lichen on stone. The thick felted yarns vary in height, so the rug has a pebbled, shaggy texture you want to sink your toes into.

Its quiet green note makes this rug a natural partner for plants, raw concrete, linen and pale wood. In a pared back living room with cream furniture it adds texture and just enough colour to keep things from feeling stark. Laid beside the bed, it brings a touch of the outdoors into the bedroom and suits bedding in ecru or olive.

What you get is honest material: 100% pure new wool, felted and woven into a high pile of around 45 mm with uneven pile heights. The rug is produced in the Netherlands by Brink & Campman on an axminster loom and finished with a jute and cotton backing. It can be used on underfloor heating. Blot spills at once with a clean dry cloth without rubbing, vacuum with a smooth nozzle rather than a rotating brush, and shake out the pile once in a while.
