Walnut, smoked oak and cognac leather all find their match in Escape Kelim Muscat, a taupe wool kilim in a warm greyish brown. The shade comes straight from undyed wool, which gives it a depth that feels honest and lived in. A band in a contrasting tone finishes each short end, and the flat weave without pile has a lively, slightly grainy texture.

This colour is made for a dining room where people like to linger: a long table, rush seated chairs, candlelight and dark ceramics. It also warms a study lined with books or a living room with deep green walls. Along a corridor or in a narrow entrance, the runner of 90 x 250 cm repeats the same warm note and draws the eye forward.

The kilim is woven by hand in India as a flatweave, using 100% undyed natural New Zealand wool, to a design by Space Copenhagen for Massimo Copenhagen. Chairs slide over it easily and it can be used on underfloor heating. The hand of the weaver shows in small irregularities of size and colour. For care, vacuum regularly with the rotating brush off and blot stains immediately; at first the new wool may shed slightly.
