Columns Sienna is a handwoven rug in wool and cotton in a deep, warm red, with columns in marsala, rust and taupe running across a neutral base. The design pays tribute to Benita Otte, one of the great weavers of the Bauhaus, and translates her geometry into a rug with real intensity and character, finished with fringes on the short ends.

This is a rug that sets the tone of a room. Put it under a round dining table with chairs in lacquered wood, or let it warm a living room with white walls, dark wood and terracotta. 140 x 200 cm fits a bedroom or study, 170 x 240 cm and 200 x 300 cm a living room, and 250 x 350 cm and 300 x 400 cm a large dining or seating area.

Woven by hand on a handloom in India from 80% wool and 20% cotton, about 1.5 cm thick (1 cm in 250 x 350 and 300 x 400 cm). Every piece is finished by hand to create the characteristic double layer effect, and handwork means small variations in size and shade. Suitable for underfloor heating. Do not wash the rug: vacuum regularly without a beater bar or rotating brush, blot spills straight away with a dry white cloth, and trim any loose yarn with scissors rather than pulling it. For a deep clean, professional cleaning is recommended.
