Camel, hazel, a hint of caramel: the light brown of Senso Planes Fur Brown is a mélange of warm tones with pale flecks running through it, much like undyed wool. Across that field a slim raised cord draws three rectangles that overlap and shift away from the middle. Because line and ground share the same colour, you notice the pattern through touch and shadow more than through contrast. The surface is flat, dense and matt.

Warm brown loves cream. Picture a reading corner with a cream leather lounge chair on a slender steel frame, a low stack of books on the floor and a view of the garden: this rug anchors the whole scene and makes pale walls feel sunnier. It also sits beautifully on a light grey poured floor or on whitewashed oak, where the camel tone brings in the warmth of natural materials. Walnut, rattan and brushed steel are good companions.

Pure new wool is naturally resilient and hides everyday soil well, which suits a rug in a much used room. Senso Planes is woven flat by hand in India, 100% wool, roughly 6 mm high and without backing. Add a non slip underlay on smooth floors to keep it in place. Thanks to the low height it lies comfortably under dining chairs and in front of doors, and it can be used over underfloor heating. Expect a little fluff during the first weeks, regular vacuuming takes care of it.
