The bordered rug is a classic, and Senso Border Natural strips it back to the essence. Three rectangular frames sit one inside the other, each drawn with a fine line woven in relief on a plain ground of warm sand beige. No second colour, no ornament: only the raised line and the light that catches it. The oatmeal tone has a soft mélange, and the hand woven surface is flat and even, with a dry wool feel.

In a bedroom this symmetry is restful. Centre the bed on the rug so the frames run out evenly on both sides, and you step onto wool in the morning instead of a cold floor. Combine with linen bedding in white or sand, a rough oak stool as a bedside table and matt walls in a chalky tone. The same calm works in a living room with concrete, pale stone and a single sculptural chair.

How do you care for a flatwoven wool rug? Simply: vacuum regularly with a smooth nozzle, without rotating brush, and dab spills immediately with a clean dry cloth. Never rub. Senso Border is made by hand in India from 100% pure new wool and measures about 6 mm in height. Since it has no backing, a non slip underlay is wise on smooth floors. The rug is suitable for underfloor heating, and doors pass over it easily.
