Decor Pilar Coral by Brink & Campman is a striped rug with a twist. Vertical bands of coral red, leaning towards orange, alternate with olive green and cream, some broad and some pencil thin. The field is divided into three horizontal zones, and in the middle one the colours trade places, so the lines seem to jump sideways. The cut wool pile is dense and soft, which gives the coral a deep, saturated glow.

This is a rug that sets the mood of a room. On oak herringbone parquet or a pale concrete floor it brings warmth and energy at once. Pair it with a plain sofa in cream or sand, dark wood shelving and a few generous green plants, and let the coral do the talking. In a living room it is the natural centrepiece, while in a dining room or bedroom it adds a cheerful retro note to a modern interior.

Pilar is hand tufted in India from 100% pure new wool, with a cut pile of 17 mm and a backing of cotton and latex. It is suitable for underfloor heating and can also be made to measure on request. New wool sheds a little loose fibre in the first weeks, which is normal and fades with regular vacuuming. Use a smooth nozzle without a rotating brush and blot spills at once with a clean, dry cloth.
