Petrol blue is the colour that catches your eye first on Decor Miller Winter. It fills a tall rounded field along one side and returns in a smaller, darker oval near the top. Around it lies a calm ground of blush beige, with a sandy curve, a cream shape and a broad base of charcoal brown. The fields meet in clean, hand cut lines, and the whole sits inside an irregular oval outline. Up close the wool pile is thick and matt, with a soft sheen where the light falls across it.

This is a rug for a room that already has some calm in it and could use one confident gesture. It is very much at home on warm oak or walnut, beside a dark wood lounge chair or a sofa in deep blue, grey or off white. Repeat the petrol tone once, in a cushion or a vase, and leave the rest neutral. In the dining room it works well under a round or oval table, and in the bedroom it adds depth without making the space feel cold.

Decor Miller Winter is a Brink & Campman design, hand tufted in India in 100% pure new wool. The cut pile is 17 mm high and the back is finished with cotton and latex. As the rug is not rectangular, the size given refers to its widest and longest point. A made to measure version is possible on request. You can lay it on underfloor heating without concern. Pure new wool is naturally resilient and hides soil well. Blot a spill at once with a clean dry cloth and never rub.
