Polar 010 Ruby is a bold, deep red with a fine dark fleck, like pomegranate seeds on a dark plate. In a dining room with dark oak and off white walls it brings real warmth, and a single brass lamp is all it needs.
Polar combines a fine wool yarn with threads of sisal, woven on a black warp. The mix gives the surface a lively, lightly flecked look and a crisp character, a little bolder than a plain flat weave.
Perletta handweaves every Polar rug in Morocco from New Zealand wool and sisal. It is about 1 cm thick, so it lies flat and suits underfloor heating. Turn it once a year and it wears evenly.
