Atoll Brown is a brown hand tufted wool rug in a soft, earthy shade that recalls damp forest soil and walnut shells. Across its width run a few gently wavy lines, like slow ripples drifting over still water, and in this deep tone they read as quiet tonal shifts rather than graphic marks. The low pile is dense and supple, warm under bare feet.

Brown grounds a room without weighing it down. Lay this rug beneath a sofa in cognac leather or deep olive velvet, add oak, linen and a stack of well loved books, and a living room instantly feels settled. It also gives a large bedroom a cosy, enveloping base, especially in 250 x 300 cm, which leaves space for the bed and both bedside tables.

The rug is tufted by hand in India from 100% natural European wool and finished with fringes on two opposite sides. Underfloor heating suits it perfectly. Like any piece made by hand, it has slight differences in measurements and colour, which belong to its character. Vacuum it without the rotating brush; in the first weeks the new wool sheds a little, which fades naturally over time.
