Saltillo started as a watercolour of a Mexican landscape, and Harlequin Saltillo Forest keeps the wet edges of the paint. Cactus shapes and desert succulents dissolve into patches of sage, sea green, moss and warm cinnamon, drawn together by fine outlines in soft gold.
Lay it where daylight moves, in front of a window wall or beside a garden door. The surface has a gentle shimmer and the greens change through the day, cooler in the morning and deeper towards evening. Tan leather, dark boards and plenty of plants are the obvious match.
This rug is hand tufted in India from 60% pure new wool and 40% viscose, with a 17 mm pile on a cotton and latex backing. Underfloor heating is fine and custom sizes can be made. The viscose in the pile is sensitive to water, so we recommend it for a living room or bedroom and not for a dining area or hallway. Vacuum with suction only, blot spills immediately with a dry cloth and leave stains to a professional cleaner.
