There is something of a line drawing about Senso Blocks Fur Brown. On a ground of warm camel brown, a light brown mélange with glints of sand, three rectangular blocks follow one another from top to bottom. Each is traced in a thin raised line and none is perfectly straight: the sides tilt a touch, like pencil strokes. As the sun moves round, the lines sharpen and soften again, so the rug changes quietly through the day.

The colour brings warmth to a bedroom or a reading corner. Picture it beside a bed with a headboard in dark wood, linen in rust or ochre and a heavy wool blanket, or under a leather armchair with a floor lamp next to it. It pairs well with oak, walnut, black metal and off white walls. In a home with a natural, Scandinavian leaning style it supplies the earthy note that keeps pale rooms from feeling cool.

The facts are simple. 100% pure new wool, flatwoven by hand in India, about 6 mm thin and rectangular. Suitable for underfloor heating, and low enough for chairs and doors to move freely across it. Because the back is left bare, we recommend a non slip underlay on smooth floors. Pure new wool is resilient by nature. Vacuum it with a smooth nozzle and, if something is spilled, press a clean dry cloth on the spot at once without rubbing.
