Persian Scroll takes its motifs from a historic Morris & Co embroidery and repeats them like a Persian garden seen from above. In Morris & Co Persian Scroll Plum, rosettes, palmettes and curling tendrils in cream, olive, aubergine and ink blue cover a warm red ground that leans towards plum.
A red rug is the oldest way to make a room feel welcoming, and this one does it without a border, so the pattern runs right to the edge. It looks at home by an open fire with brass, dark turned wood and a pale linen sofa. In a hallway or study it gives instant warmth.
Persian Scroll is hand tufted in India from 100% pure new wool. The pile stands 17 mm high and feels full and soft, and the backing is cotton with latex. You can order it made to measure, and it may lie on a floor with underfloor heating. Loose fibres in the first month are part of new wool. Vacuum on a low setting, keep the rug out of strong direct sun, and soak up spills without delay.
You can see and feel our rugs in our rug shop and showroom in Willebroek, in the Antwerp region, easily accessible from Antwerp, Brussels, Mechelen and Sint-Niklaas. Delivery is free across Europe and you have 30 days to return.
