Earth Bamboo Warm Grey is a taupe wool and bamboo silk rug, a grey that seems steeped in earth. Brown and mushroom notes warm it through, and the faint mottling gives it the look of handmade paper. Touch matters here: the pile is short and dense, smooth where the bamboo silk lies, a little fuller where the wool takes over.
It is made for a calm Japandi interior: low furniture in smoked oak, paper lamps, stoneware and a few branches in a vase. It is equally at home in a hotel style bedroom with dark wood and soft wool throws. Taupe goes with black, chalk white and tobacco brown without effort.
One half New Zealand wool, the other half bamboo silk, and entirely woven by hand in India. Underfloor heating is fine. As with any handwork, expect slight variations in size and shade. Keep water away from it, blot spills immediately with a dry cloth, vacuum without using the brush and book a professional clean when it needs more.
