Harlequin Zeal Forest looks like a painter testing greens on a sheet of ivory paper. Broad brushstrokes in forest, fern, sage and moss pile up down the middle of the rug, with strokes of slate blue and ink between them and thin lines trailing off to the edges.
It is modern without being cold, and it loves a garden view. Put it in front of a cognac leather sofa on a dark oak floor and scatter a few cushions in green and navy. The light ground keeps the room open, while the stack of colour gives the seating area a centre.
Zeal is hand tufted in India in 100% pure new wool, with a 17 mm pile on a cotton and latex backing. It is suitable for underfloor heating, comes in two runner sizes and can also be made to measure. Being handmade, each rug may differ a little in size and shade. Light wool shows marks sooner, so vacuum regularly without a brush and deal with spills at once using a clean, dry cloth.
