Machine washing at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle handles whatever daily life produces: a full clean without the cost or inconvenience of professional treatment. For everyday maintenance, vacuuming and spot cleaning are enough. The construction is flatwoven polyester, approximately three millimetres in pile height, which means it sits flat from day one, does not shed, and does not trap dust or allergens. The designs draw from North African tribal weaving traditions and translate traditional geometric motifs into a flatwoven jacquard construction in warm, earthy tones. The Virgin Land collection is the other current bestseller and the newest addition to the Mad Men family. Where Mad Men Griff leads with bold urban graphic energy, Virgin Land takes a wider, more atmospheric approach: patterns that reference landscapes and planetary forms in a palette that moves between deep ocean and warm earth. Neptune, Uranus and Mars have established themselves quickly as the strongest colourways since launch. Choosing a Louis de Poortere Ecorug is also choosing to close the loop on what happens at the end of the rug's life. Seventy per cent of the material was recycled before it arrived in your home. When it is eventually done, a QR code on the back of the rug connects to the Take Care programme, which arranges a free return for recycling. The rug goes back, the material continues. That circular logic has been built into the collection since 2023 and strengthened with every year since.
