layered-x-tom-morris-ryg-olwen-blue
Layered x Tom Morris Ryg Olwen Blue

Olwen Blue is the deepest Ryg: lattice motifs in clear sky blue and small squares of mustard on a rich chocolate ground. It has the warmth of an heirloom blanket and the punch of a graphic print.

It brings character to a room with wood, glass and a few sculptural pieces, and its dark ground hides the traces of daily life well. Lay it under a dining table or in front of a fireplace. 250 x 350 cm suits a dining table for six, 200 x 300 cm a living room, and the 80 x 300 cm runner a long hallway.

Ryg belongs to CLOTH, the collection Layered created with London interior architect Tom Morris, founder of Morrisstudio. The pattern is drawn from the traditional Welsh blankets of his family background, with colours taken from the coast of North Wales.

Handwoven on a pit loom in Bhadohi, India, where the weaver works the treadles below floor level. The result is a dense, flat weave in wool of about 6 mm that lies low and calm on the floor and suits underfloor heating. Handwork means small variations in size and tone. New wool sheds a little at first, which fades over time. Vacuum without a brush and treat stains with lukewarm water and a little soap, then absorb the moisture with a dry microfibre cloth. For a deep clean, choose professional flat washing.

You can see and feel our rugs in our rug shop and showroom in Willebroek, in the Antwerp region, easily accessible from Antwerp, Brussels, Mechelen and Sint-Niklaas. Delivery is free across Europe and you have 30 days to return.
