CHOOSING WHICH WOOL RUG IS RIGHT FOR YOU

As you shop for your perfect rug, it’s important to consider some key topics.

POSITION. First, look at your room and decide where you want to place your rug. Each room is unique, but these general ideas will steer you in the right direction.

LIVING ROOM. Wool area rugs are often used to ground your main seating area. If that’s the case for you, center the rug in the middle of the space and have it in front of the seats, under their front legs, or further beneath the chairs.

DINING ROOM. For a balanced dining room, center your rug beneath your table. Be sure to leave an extra two or so feet of rug on each side/end so the chairs have plenty of room to move around.

BEDROOM. If your bed is the main focal point of the room, accent it by laying a rug all the way under the bed or under the bottom two-thirds of it. However, if your bed is off to one side, try placing an area rug in the middle of the room itself or along the side of the bed.

PATTERN. Wool rugs come in many different designs and patterns, so no matter what style you fall into, you can find a rug that’s just right for you. From vintage to modern and anywhere in between, you can choose a design that fits in with one particular style or choose a pattern that blends interior design styles. Ultimately, your rug’s design should connect to the style of the rest of the room so everything feels cohesive.

COLOR. Finally, there’s color to consider. Since wool rugs are available in every interior design style, you’ll find a wide array of color palettes too. Blue, black, yellow, green, red, pink, and other hues are out there in different combinations, shades, and patterns, so you have your pick of color palette. Remember, your rug’s color palette should connect to the room’s overarching color scheme and reinforce all your other decor.

CAN YOU MACHINE WASH A WOOL RUG?

ARE WOOL RUGS IN STYLE?
